Registering and Voting in Madison County

Registration requirements:

18 Years of Age
U.S. Citizen
Madison County Resident
Never convicted of a felony (unless rights have been restored)
Not declared mentally incompetent

Where you may register to vote:

The Board of Registrars, 5th Floor, Madison County Courthouse, Huntsville, Alabama
All City Halls
Public Libraries
Armed Forces Recruiting Stations

You may also register when applying for:

State Driver's License (courthouse or satellites)
Aid to Dependent Children
Food Stamps
WIC
Medicaid
Rehabilitation Services

Applications must be filled out completely and signed, and the original returned to :

Registration is NOT by political party

Only in the Primary Elections must you declare your party at the polls. In the November General Election you may vote for any candidate on the ballot - you can either vote a straight party ticket or a split ticket

You must register to vote and make name or address changes in writing 10 days before an election

When you move from another county or state, you must reregister

You must vote at the polling place in the precinct where you reside

All polling places in Madison County are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Poll workers
